OK if you want to plug and chug

This book is pretty decent if you're just trying to learn what numbers to put into what Excel formulas in order to get the right answer. However, if you're looking for a resource that helps you to understand WHY the numbers are the way they are (explain the t distribution, for example), then this book's not for you. I used it for a grad class and I personally felt it didn't "teach" me anything besides showing me the equations. I guess not everyone's going to become a statistician, but I would have liked a better explanation of the key concepts.

One will clearly understand from the reading of this book that there was no more need of the Old Covenant once Jesus ratified the New Covenant when he shed his blood for mankind on the cross. This book is a breath of fresh air to the subject of the Covenants and gives one a clear understanding of the subject. The dialogue at the end of each chapter proves to be very enlightening as it answers questions that many readers have on the subject. Be prepared to not want to put this book down once you start reading it. It should be read by every thinking Christian who wants to understand what God would want them to understand at this time.

Gwendolyn vs. the Band of Barren Hearts...

Wow Gwendolyn vs. The Band Of Barren Hearts is a heart wrenching, sick, mad, twisted story of a girl (Gwendolyn/Gwen) and boy (Welch) that were involved in this story. They are 2 broken individuals that come together and try and save each other after horrible things were done to them in a Foster home and to think Welch's horrible care started at a much younger age.

There were some definite some tearful moments and I cried for the things that were done to them. Of course I can't tell you because I don't do spoilers and feel that you need to read the book too (HEED the warning at the end of this review)

And, OMG what a twisted ending. I am speechless and at the time of writing this I truly do not know how to take the ending of this book. This was another book that I couldn't put down until I had finished reading it well only interrupted by me having to go to work.

BIG WARNING: Mary E. Palmerin has a Disclaimer at the beginning of the book that states:

Disturbingly Compelling

This book is not for the faint of heart. Beautifully written, there is a reality to it that will scar the heart and sicken the soul but still compels you to keep reading. Adults all over tell their children that there are no such things as monsters, but they're wrong. Some gleefully choose to be so. And for some there is no other choice but to open the gates of Madness and let loose the Monsters protecting their souls upon the world. Be sure to read the blurb to know what you're getting into.

Emotionally draining but a good book

I received this book for an honest review.

Wow!
This book is so emotionally draining.

My boy.
My monster
My savior.
My all.

My sweet girl.

My heart broke for the main characters Gwen and Welch.

Gwen's parents died and was sent to foster care.
Welch didn't know his dad but his mother died and was bounced from one foster home to another.

Gwen and Welch both end up at Claude and Helen's house and the torture and abuse starts from day one.
Welch has been with Claude and Helen a lot longer than Gwen.
He has become some mentally/emotionally void just to survive.
Gwen is still in the grieving process when she begins to get abused.

Claude and Helen are smart, they don't sexually abuse these two 17 year old kids.
Welch is forced to rape Gwen.
They are so broken from the beatings that they find love and safety with each other.
Though the pain they share together during isn't a healthy but it is survival and their way of taking control.

They finally have their freedom but they are on the run.
They end up in Wyoming and try to get a bus ticket to Portland but it costs too much.
So they do what they know best, they use sex to get the money.
It just didn't turn out they way they had hoped.

The events from the time they took their freedom from Claude and Helen to trying to say good bye to Wyoming founds Gwen and Welch separated and in the loony bin.
They are awaiting trial.

Will they finally be free to love? to move on? to not be the monsters they see of them?

This book is a dark read, and if you do not like to read about rape, beatings, and molestation, then this book is not for you.
But this book does make you think of the foster care system and how some kids fall through the cracks.

I can't wait to read book 2 about Welch.
